Release notes for Onslaught 20.08.28.1918
Onslaught » Devlog
Another day, another build. Here’s what you have to look forward to in version 20.08.28.1918:
- Collision alert warnings no longer sound in the game-over dialog, since it makes no sense to warn about collisions you can do nothing about.
- Hopefully eliminate, or at least minimize, initial audio artifacts on game launch.
- If a speech synthesizer doesn’t support setting rate–Tolk and screen readers, for instance–don’t show it as an option in the settings menu.
- The MacOS app should correctly reflect the build version.
Unfortunately, I had some issues with my Windows VM that require a reboot of my host system, which I can’t do today. As such, I couldn’t address the NVDA issue in the tutorial and will have to postpone it until Monday.
Thanks and enjoy.

Well, just ran the game.
Its certtainly easier to play now.
I do get overwealmed at 8 targets, the only thing I wish for is a faster firing speed.
I’m hearing from a couple folks that the game could be easier in general, and I think I agree with that. I’d like for players to spend a bit more time in each round without it being too easy.
I’m going to play with some numbers next week and see what I can do. I did increase the fire rate some, and that felt too easy–I blasted through the initial waves without any skill or strategy beyond “spin and shoot.” :) I may increase it by a bit less, make the minimum speed a bit higher and the max speed lower, tweak bullet speeds to make them faster and quicker to disappear, etc. It may take a few days to get something I like, but I wanted everyone to know that I’m working on it.
